Procrastination! This is almost a dirty word. LOL! I recently read an article where Dr. Ferrari said “”Telling someone who procrastinates to buy a weekly planner is like telling someone with chronic depression to just cheer up,”
Great procrastinators tell themselves lies such as: “I’ll feel more like doing this tomorrow.” Or “I work best under pressure.” They know internally those things are really not true. In addition, they protect their sense of self by saying “this isn’t important.” Another big lie procrastinators tell themselves that they are more creative when under pressure. Unfortunately they do not turn out to be more creative; they only feel that way. They squander their resources.
To breakthrough procrastination and begin bringing projects to completion you may have to take very small steps so as not to overwhelm yourself. Or you may find if you make a commitment to yourself and set aside the time needed for completion your momentum increases as you work.
Whatever your solution to working through procrastination you must be persistent and have perseverance. Sure, there will be times when you feel like you’re spinning your wheels, but you’ll always get out of the rut with genuine perseverance. It really is about making that decision about what it is you really want.
The opposite of perseverance is procrastination. Perseverance means you never quit. Procrastination usually means you never get started or if you do you don’t carry it through to completion.
Take steps today to begin to move beyond procrastination and make a commitment to persevere. What is your number one project? What is your next step to bringing it to completion?

Nice Post. I am a computer engineer and I am working in a consulting management firm. Video conferencing equipments are highly preferred in our office as we have frequent meetings with our clients and personnel in other locations. I will be looking forward for more updates.

I like the small steps suggestion. A friend of mine used to call that “chunking it down”
I’ve begun typing on my design projects list the ONE step I’ll need to take next and that makes it feel comfortable and easier to jump in. Feeling super-inspired by the project always helps, of course!

I like that “chunking it down”. How about setting a timer for 50 minutes and commit to working on the project you have been procrastinating about.
