Tips for Successful Marketing

Posted By Donna on October 4th, 2008 at 11:01

How often have you started a marketing campaign only to give up in a few weeks because you did not experience immediate results?  I have watched many solopreneurs give up too soon.  I had one client say why would I continue to blog when no one is reading?  Of course it can be frustrating to know you are giving it your all and no one is acknowledging your efforts.  We are certainly a society that expects instant gratification.  But when it comes to marketing your business the biggest mistake you can make is to stop any marketing campaign too soon.  Folks have to be touched by your marketing message 8 to 12 times before they will begin to see you as a possible answer to their problem.

What kind of things can you do to expose more prospects to your brillant writings?  It is definitely a process to attract one new reader at a time to consistently build your audience.  Here are a few questions to ask yourself.

  • Do you participate in forums where your ideal client hangs out?
  • Have you used google alerts to notify you when someone blogs about your subject of expertise and then comment on those blogs?
  • Have you stumbled your blog and ask your family and friends to do the same?  All of these little actions add up to big traffic.

Practical Steps to make it happen. I recommend that you make a list of activities you can do to promote your blog then get yourself a kitchen timer.  Set that timer each day for 60 minutes and during that 60 minutes complete as many of those activities as you possibly can.  When the timer goes off stop.  At the end of the week you will have spent 5 hours promoting your blog.  If you added another 5 hours looking for new prospects and staying in touch with your past and present clients you will be on your way to consistent income.

The bottom line you must keep writing and sharing your knoweldge.

9.4 Million Unemployed, Are You One of Them?

Posted By Donna on September 29th, 2008 at 11:19

That’s right 9.4 million unemployed in the US and almost 3 million in the UK and Canada and we could go on country by country.  Many of those unemployed will make the decision to venture out on their own.  Some will look at their situation as the opportunity they have been waiting for and others will determine that they have no other choice but to go it alone.   Sadly upwards of 80% of them will fail to survive their new venture as a business owners.

The failure rate is precisely why I founded the Association.  The mission is to provide a virtual incubator for solopreneurs.  Solopreneurs will discover a community offering them the training, coaching, resources, support and accountability to make their journey successful.

The IAS will support new and existing solo business owners in finding out how to overcome fear and procrastination and take action on their dream.   Additionally providing these business owners with the knowledge of how to avoid the #1 deadly mistake that business owners make.

Existing business owners will learn how to recognize their plateau and the steps necessary to break through and achieve the next level in their businesses.

Learning from other business owner’s experiences will provide the members with much more than theory but practical firsthand knowledge they will not find elsewhere.  Check out all of the benefits available for members.

Fourteen successful solopreneurs contribute trainings, articles and answer questions as posted on forums and take live calls once a week.
