What do you say when ask “What do you do?” Something like, I’m a life coach, I’m a therapist, I’m an attorney…and do you expect people to immediately identify someone in their personal network you could help? Those are really boring descriptions of what you do. And they certainly wouldn’t have me ready to hire you or promote you to someone I know. You must help people feel what you do. They need to connect emotionally. Better would be something like this.
“You know how when women go through menapause they feel lost and alone? Well, what I do is help them with coping strategies that allows them to live with their symptoms. The result is they are happier with themselves and the benefits are their stress levels are dramatically reduced and their relationships are restored to normal.”
What do you think? Is that better than therapist?
You will learn a four step process for determining and creating an effective method of sharing who you are and what you do.
I am offering a teleclass on Monday, April 2nd at 8 pm est . Only $14.97 Sign up here.
Very interactive class to help you clarify how you talk about what you do. You have 30 seconds to engage people emotionally so they get what you do and identify who they know that can use your service or product.
We will spend the first few minutes of the class explaining the process and the remainder of the class walking participants through the process so that they leave the call ready to practice and internalize how they tell folks what they do. This one step in your business can be critical to your success.
“The session was very informative. You dove down to the heart of the problem very quickly providing beneficial information that I can start using immediately. I especially liked learning about the reasons behind the formula. The system you created is easy to ollow, casual and yet very effective. I’m looking forward to learning more.” Joanna, www.startupcompany.com
Donna’s “What do you do” teleclass was excellent. The time spent was focused and efficient (much appreciated in this busy world we live in!) and provided excellent ideas on how to get more business simply by how you introduce yourself. In addition, Donna utilized classic training techniques involving group participation that not only help learners learn rather than just using a speech format, but also gave even more value by being specific to those individuals who participated in the diads. Thank you, Donna, for providing this class as an introduction to your work but with real-world value for the participants.

“In ten short minutes Donna Amos brought clarity to something I had been tinkering away at for months. She phrased it so perfectly that I had to ask her to stop and repeat what she said so I could write it down word for word. What a gift!” Colleen McGunnigle
